Skin boosters are fine injections of hyaluronic acid placed within the skin. Unlike filler, they are not used to build lips, sharpen a jaw or create volume. Their job is simpler: to support hydration where the skin has begun to feel dry, crepey or less even. They can be a lovely option for the face, neck, décolletage and hands when the aim is fresher-looking skin, not a different face. I will always assess your skin first. Sometimes a skin booster is the right starting point, and sometimes a different treatment, a skincare change or no injectable treatment at all makes more sense.

A UK-developed skin booster built around high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, placed just under the skin rather than deep in the tissue. It does not add volume. Its job is hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality across the face, neck or hands, and it is usually given as a course of two or three sessions a few weeks apart.
Made in Italy by IBSA, Profhilo carries one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, 64mg in each 2ml syringe, with no chemical cross-linking agents. Its hybrid complex of high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid spreads through the tissue rather than sitting in one place, hydrating the skin and prompting collagen and elastin. Given in five points on each side of the face, two sessions four weeks apart.
We will talk through what is bothering you about your skin, your medical history and the result you would be happy to see. Avoid alcohol and non-essential blood-thinning medicines for 24 hours where medically safe to do so.
After numbing cream if needed, a series of small injections is placed across the agreed area. Most appointments take around 30 minutes.
Small bumps, redness, tenderness or the occasional bruise can happen and usually settle quickly. Avoid strenuous exercise, heat, facials and make-up on the area for the period advised at your appointment.
