A medical decision, taken slowly.

Your mini hifu plan is shaped in a free consultation by a registered nurse with an MSc in Advanced Practice. We only proceed when it's genuinely the right call.

Overview

What it is, in plain English.

Mini HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy to gently heat selected layers beneath the skin's surface. The intention is to encourage a collagen response over time, which may improve the look of mild laxity and soft tissue looseness. It is often considered around the jawline, lower face, neck or brow. It is not a facelift, and it will not recreate the change that surgery can achieve. I am very clear about that at consultation. For the right person, with mild concerns and realistic expectations, it can be a sensible non-surgical option. For more significant laxity, I will talk you through other choices or advise you not to spend money on a treatment unlikely to satisfy you.

Benefits

Why clients choose it.

  • A non-surgical option for mild facial or neck laxity.
  • Uses focused ultrasound without needles or incisions.
  • The skin surface remains intact, with little recovery time for most clients.
  • Changes develop gradually over the following months.
  • Can be targeted to areas such as the jawline, lower face, neck or brow.
  • A consultation helps set sensible expectations before treatment.
Who it's for

Suitable candidates

  • Adults with mild skin laxity who prefer a non-surgical approach.
  • Clients happy with a gradual, subtle change rather than an instant lift.
  • People in good general health with realistic expectations.
  • Clients who understand that results vary with age, skin quality and anatomy.
Who it's not for

Not suitable if

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding clients.
  • Anyone with an active skin infection, open wound or significant inflammation in the treatment area.
  • People with certain implanted electronic devices or metal in the treatment area, depending on clinical assessment.
  • Anyone with significant skin laxity where the likely benefit would be too limited.
What to expect

Before, during, and after.

before

We assess your skin, facial movement and degree of laxity, then take photographs so there is a fair point of comparison. Come with clean skin where possible and tell me about implants, medical conditions and recent treatments.

during

Ultrasound gel is applied and the handpiece is moved over the planned area. You may feel warmth, tingling or brief deeper sensations. Treatment time depends on the area, but is commonly 30 to 60 minutes.

after

You may be pink or tender for a short time. Some people feel a little sensitivity when touching the area for a few days. Most return to normal activities straight away, with simple aftercare guidance from the clinic.

Questions

Mini HIFU FAQs.

No. I deliberately designed the clinic this way. We sit back from Friars Lane, behind electric gates, with private parking entirely out of view from the road — your car can't be seen from the street. There is no signage on the building, no shopfront, no waiting room window. You walk straight through a discreet entrance, the door closes behind you, and you are the only client in the clinic. Many of my clients tell me Visage is the most private clinic they have ever used. That is by design, not by accident.
A note from Bernadette
My job with Mini HIFU is to be honest about the limit as well as the potential. It is a useful treatment for mild laxity in the right person. It is not a substitute for surgery, and that honesty is what protects your time and money.
