PRP means platelet-rich plasma. A small sample of your blood is taken during your appointment and processed in a centrifuge to prepare platelet-rich plasma. At Visage, PRP is considered for selected facial and under-eye skin concerns. Your clinician checks suitability, the area to treat and whether the right approach is injections, microneedling, or no treatment. PRP is not dermal filler and it does not create instant volume or change the shape of your face. It is also different from PRF (platelet-rich fibrin): the patient-facing treatment offered here is PRP. Research into aesthetic PRP is still developing, so we will be honest about what it may and may not be able to do for your particular concern.

PRP is not a product I buy in. It is made from a small sample of your own blood, spun in a centrifuge in the clinic so the platelet-rich layer can be separated and re-injected where it is needed. Nothing synthetic, no risk of an allergic reaction, and it is prepared fresh each time in a sterile, single-use kit.
We start by reviewing your medical history and the concern you want to address. I will explain the proposed approach, likely downtime, possible side effects, and aftercare before treatment begins.
A small blood sample is taken and prepared in a centrifuge. Depending on your individual plan, the prepared plasma may be used with injections, microneedling, or both. You can ask questions at every stage.
You will receive treatment-specific aftercare and clear guidance on what to expect. Your review timing and any further appointments are agreed around your plan, rather than assumed in advance.
